If you're a fan of free mobile MMORPGs, you've probably been eyeing Forsaken World: Gods and Demons up close and personal ever since it was announced for iOS and Android in January of this year. It's one of the most gorgeous looking mobile entries in a long while, and boasts a huge amount of new content that you'll almost certainly want to download straight away. The problem is that a free app that makes you spend $4.99 on each character sale isn't exactly a money saver, is it? In this review, I'll be looking at whether or not Forsaken World: Gods and Demons are worth spending money on, and whether or not the game deserves that money.
First off, if you want to play Forsaken World: Gods and Demons on mobile devices, you should know that it features everything you'd expect out of an RPG: strong storyline, interesting characters, engaging graphics, plenty of side quests to complete, a whole lot of equipment to collect and craft, and a whole load of special events to partake in, each bringing in its own set of rewards. Special events are basically short quests that reward you for your efforts by giving you something that benefits you in the long run (the in-game currency, for example). Side quests, meanwhile, are smaller quests that you undertake independently of main quests; they usually yield higher rewards but take longer to do, as well, meaning that you'll want to do them more often in order to get the most out of them.
So, while Forsaken World: Gods and Demons aren't quite the runaway success many were hoping for, it still has a lot to offer as a solid open-world fantasy mmorpg for mobile devices. It's certainly a step up from its contemporaries, and it gives fans of old-school RPGs a chance to jump into an old-school fantasy universe without having to do anything more than exploring an empty landscape or kill some dragons. For fans of classic PC RPGs, though, it puts the game where it needs to be right now: in the upper hand, waiting for you to come along and try it out for yourself.
